| 2se essa obra maravilhosa que ele anunciou se realiza e ele te exorta: ‘Vinde e sigamos outros deuses (que não é o Deus que tu conheceste) e passemos a servi-los!’ | 2e suceder o sinal ou prodígio de que vos houver falado, e ele disser: Vamos após outros deuses - deuses que nunca conhecestes - e sirvamo-los! | 2And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; |
| 3Não deis ouvidos às palavras desse pregador ou sonhador. Porquanto é Yahweh, vosso Deus, que vos está pondo à prova para aflorar diante de todos o quanto, de fato, amais ao SENHOR de todo o coração e com toda a alma. | 3não ouvireis as palavras daquele profeta, ou daquele sonhador; porquanto o Senhor vosso Deus vos está provando, para saber se amais o Senhor vosso Deus de todo o vosso coração e de toda a vossa alma. | 3Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. |
| 4Seguireis, pois, somente a Yahweh, vosso Deus, e a Ele amareis com reverência, cumprindo fielmente seus mandamentos e obedecendo à sua Palavra. A Ele tão somente servireis e vos apegareis! | 4Após o Senhor vosso Deus andareis, e a ele temereis; os seus mandamentos guardareis, e a sua voz ouvireis; a ele servireis, e a ele vos apegareis. | 4Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. |
| 5Quanto àquele profeta ou vidente, deverá ser morto, pois pregou rebeldia contra o SENHOR, vosso Deus, que vos libertou e vos fez sair da terra do Egito e vos resgatou da casa da escravidão; tal impostor tentou afastar-nos do Caminho em que o próprio Yahweh, teu Deus, te ordenou caminhar. Desse modo extirparás o mal do teu meio! | 5E aquele profeta, ou aquele sonhador, morrerá, pois falou rebeldia contra o Senhor vosso Deus, que vos tirou da terra do Egito e vos resgatou da casa da servidão, para vos desviar do caminho em que o Senhor vosso Deus vos ordenou que andásseis; assim exterminareis o mal do meio vós. | 5And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. |
| 6Se teu irmão, filho do teu pai ou da tua mãe, teu filho, tua filha, ou tua esposa amada, ou o teu amigo mais chegado, tentar secretamente instigar-te, argumentando: ‘Vamos servir a outros deuses!’, deuses que nem tu nem teus pais conheceram, | 6Quando teu irmão, filho da tua mãe, ou teu filho, ou tua filha, ou a mulher do teu seio, ou teu amigo que te é como a tua alma, te incitar em segredo, dizendo: Vamos e sirvamos a outros deuses! - deuses que nunca conheceste, nem tu nem teus pais, | 6If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; |

| 8não te deixes convencer, tampouco ouças o que essa pessoa tem a dizer-te. Não tenhas a menor piedade nem compaixão de nenhum desses, nem o protejas. | 8não consentirás com ele, nem o ouvirás, nem o teu olho terá piedade dele, nem o pouparás, nem o esconderás, | 8Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: |
| 9Pelo contrário: teu dever é matar sumariamente tal pessoa! Tua mão será a primeira a levantar-se contra esse infiel para matá-lo, e depois as mãos de todo o povo de Israel. | 9mas certamente o matarás; a tua mão será a primeira contra ele para o matar, e depois a mão de todo o povo; | 9But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. |
| 10Apedreja-o até que morra, pois tentou afastar-te do SENHOR, o teu Deus, que te libertou e te fez sair do Egito, da terra da servidão. | 10e o apedrejarás, até que morra, pois procurou apartar-te do Senhor teu Deus, que te tirou da terra do Egito, da casa da servidão. | 10And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. |
| 11Assim, todo o Israel saberá desse fato, ficará com grande pavor e nunca mais se fará uma ação má como essa em teu meio. | 11Todo o Israel o ouvirá, e temerá, e não se tornará a praticar semelhante iniqüidade no meio de ti. | 11And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you. |
| 12Caso ouças dizer que, numa das cidades que o SENHOR teu Deus te dará para habitar, | 12Se, a respeito de alguma das tuas cidades que o Senhor teu Deus te dá para ali habitares, ouvires dizer: | 12If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying, |
| 13homens perversos, procedentes do teu meio, seduziram os moradores da sua cidade, convidando: ‘Vamos servir a outros deuses’ que não conheceste, | 13Uns homens, filhos de Belial, saindo do meio de ti, incitaram os moradores da sua cidade, dizendo: Vamos, e sirvamos a outros deuses! - deuses que nunca conheceste - | 13Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known; |
| 14deverás investigar, fazendo uma pesquisa e interrogando diligentemente. Caso seja verdade, se o fato for comprovado, se essa abominação foi realmente praticada em teu meio, | 14então inquirirás e investigarás, perguntando com diligência; e se for verdade, se for certo que se fez tal abominação no meio de ti, | 14Then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you; |
| 15deverás então passar ao fio da espada os habitantes daquela cidade. Tu a sacrificarás como anátema, juntamente com tudo o que nela existe. | 15certamente ferirás ao fio da espada os moradores daquela cidade, destruindo a ela e a tudo o que nela houver, até os animais. | 15Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword. |
| 16Reunirás todos os seus despojos no meio da praça pública, e queimarás completamente a cidade e todos os seus pertences, para Yahweh, teu Deus. Ela ficará em ruínas para sempre e nunca mais será reconstruída. | 16E ajuntarás todo o seu despojo no meio da sua praça; e a cidade e todo o seu despojo queimarás totalmente para o Senhor teu Deus, e será montão perpétuo; nunca mais será edificada. | 16And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again. |
| 17Nada do que for sacrificado como anátema, oferta, ficará em tua mão, a fim de que o SENHOR afaste o fogo da sua indignação e ira. Ele, em seguida, te concederá a bênção da sua misericórdia e perdão, e te multiplicará, conforme prometeu sob juramento a teus antepassados, | 17Não se te pegará às mãos nada do anátema; para que o Senhor se aparte do ardor da sua ira, e te faça misericórdia, e tenha piedade de ti, e te multiplique; como jurou a teus pais, | 17And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers; |
| 18somente no caso de teres obedecido à Palavra de Yahweh, teu Deus, guardando todos os seus mandamentos, que hoje te ordeno, e praticando o que é justo aos olhos do SENHOR, teu Deus! | 18se ouvires a voz do Senhor teu Deus, para guardares todos os seus mandamentos, que eu hoje te ordeno, para fazeres o que é reto aos olhos do Senhor teu Deus. | 18When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God. |
