Dentre todos os povos da face da terra, Yahweh vos escolheu para serdes seu tesouro pessoal. | 2Porque és povo santo ao Senhor teu Deus, e o Senhor te escolheu para lhe seres o seu próprio povo, acima de todos os povos que há sobre a face da terra. | 2For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. |
| 3Não comereis nada que seja impuro. | 3Nenhuma coisa abominável comereis. | 3Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. |
| 4Eis os animais de que podereis vos alimentar: boi, ovelha, bode, | 4Estes são os animais que comereis: o boi, a ovelha, a cabra, | 4These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, |
| 5cervo, gazela, corça, bode montês, antílope, bode selvagem e o carneiro montês. | 5o veado, a gazela, o cabrito montês, a cabra montesa, o antílope, o órix e a ovelha montesa. | 5The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois. |
| 6Podereis igualmente comer de qualquer animal que tenha o casco fendido e dividido em duas unhas e que rumine. | 6Dentre os animais, todo o que tem a unha fendida, dividida em duas, e que rumina, esse podereis comer. | 6And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat. |
| 7Entretanto, há animais, ou ruminantes ou de casco fendido, de que não comereis: o camelo, o coelho e o rato silvestre. Embora ruminem não têm casco fendido; são proibidos para vosso alimento. | 7Porém, dos que ruminam, ou que têm a unha fendida, não podereis comer os seguintes: o camelo, a lebre e o querogrilo, porque ruminam, mas não têm a unha fendida; imundos vos serão; | 7Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you. |

Portanto, não podereis comer a carne desses animais, tampouco tocar em seus cadáveres. | 8nem o porco, porque tem unha fendida, mas não rumina; imundo vos será. Não comereis da carne destes, e não tocareis nos seus cadáveres. | 8And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase. |
| 9De todas as criaturas que vivem nas águas, podereis comer somente as que possuem barbatanas e escamas. | 9Isto podereis comer de tudo o que há nas águas: tudo o que tem barbatanas e escamas podereis comer; | 9These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat: |

| 12Todavia, destas não podereis vos alimentar: a águia, o urubu, a águia-marinha, | 12Mas estas são as de que não comereis: a águia, o quebrantosso, o xofrango, | 12But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, |

| 17a coruja-do-deserto, o abutre, a coruja-pescadora, | 17o pelicano, o abutre, o corvo marinho, | 17And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant, |
| 18a cegonha, qualquer espécie de garça, a poupa e o morcego. | 18a cegonha, a garça segundo a sua espécie, a poupa e o morcego. | 18And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. |
| 19Considerareis impuras e proibidas todas as pequenas criaturas que enxameiam e têm asas. Delas não comereis. | 19Também todos os insetos alados vos serão imundos; não se comerão. | 19And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. |
| 20Entretanto, podereis comer livremente de todas as aves puras. | 20De todas as aves limpas podereis comer. | 20But of all clean fowls ye may eat. |
| 21Não podereis comer nenhum animal que tenha morrido por si. Vós o dareis a um estrangeiro residente, de qualquer de vossas cidades, e ele, sim, poderá comer tal animal. Podereis também vender o animal encontrado morto a outros forasteiros. Todavia, vós sois o povo consagrado a Yahweh, o vosso Deus. | 21Não comerás nenhum animal que tenha morrido por si; ao peregrino que está dentro das tuas portas o darás a comer, ou o venderás ao estrangeiro; porquanto és povo santo ao Senhor teu Deus. Não cozerás o cabrito no leite de sua mãe. | 21Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. |
| 22Todos os anos separarás o dízimo de todo o trabalho da tua semeadura que a terra produzir. | 22Certamente darás os dízimos de todo o produto da tua semente que cada ano se recolher do campo. | 22Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. |
| 23Diante do SENHOR teu Deus, no local que Ele houver escolhido para aí fazer habitar o seu Nome, comerás o dízimo do teu cereal, do trigo, do vinho novo e do melhor azeite, e a primeira cria de todos os teus rebanhos, a fim de que aprendas continuamente a amar reverentemente a Yahweh, o teu Deus. | 23E, perante o Senhor teu Deus, no lugar que escolher para ali fazer habitar o seu nome, comerás os dízimos do teu grão, do teu mosto e do teu azeite, e os primogênitos das tuas vacas e das tuas ovelhas; para que aprendas a temer ao Senhor teu Deus por todos os dias. | 23And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always. |
| 24Contudo, se o local for demasiado distante para ti, e tiveres sido abençoado pelo SENHOR teu Deus, e não te seja possível carregar todo o dízimo, porquanto o local escolhido pelo SENHOR para ali assentar seu Nome é longe demais, | 24Mas se o caminho te for tão comprido que não possas levar os dízimos, por estar longe de ti o lugar que Senhor teu Deus escolher para ali por o seu nome, quando o Senhor teu Deus te tiver abençoado; | 24And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: |
| 25troca o dízimo por prata, e leva esse dinheiro ao local que o SENHOR, o teu Deus, tiver estabelecido. | 25então vende-os, ata o dinheiro na tua mão e vai ao lugar que o Senhor teu Deus escolher. | 25Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: |
| 26Lá poderás trocar a prata, o dinheiro, por tudo o que quiseres comer: carne de vaca, ovelha, carneiro, vinho, bebida fermentada, ou qualquer outro alimento que desejares. Então, juntamente com tua família comerás e te alegrarás ali, na presença de Yahweh, teu Deus. | 26E aquele dinheiro darás por tudo o que desejares, por bois, por ovelhas, por vinho, por bebida forte, e por tudo o que te pedir a tua alma; comerás ali perante o Senhor teu Deus, e te regozijarás, tu e a tua casa. | 26And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, |
| 27Contudo, quanto ao levita que mora nas tuas cidades, não o abandonarás, pois os levitas não possuem propriedade nem herança próprias. | 27Mas não desampararás o levita que está dentro das tuas portas, pois não tem parte nem herança contigo. | 27And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee. |
| 28Ao final de cada três anos traze igualmente todos os dízimos da colheita do terceiro ano, armazenando-os em tua própria cidade. | 28Ao fim de cada terceiro ano levarás todos os dízimos da tua colheita do mesmo ano, e os depositarás dentro das tuas portas. | 28At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: |
| 29Isso para que os levitas, que não têm parte nem herança contigo, os estrangeiros, os órfãos e as viúvas que vivem nas tuas cidades possam se achegar, comer e saciar-se, e para que Yahweh, teu Deus, os abençoe em todo o trabalho das tuas mãos! | 29Então virá o levita (pois nem parte nem herança tem contigo), o peregrino, o órfão, e a viúva, que estão dentro das tuas portas, e comerão, e fartar-se-ão; para que o Senhor teu Deus te abençoe em toda obra que as tuas mãos fizerem. | 29And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest. |
