| 3Assim, Moisés enviou-os do deserto de Parã, conforme a ordem do SENHOR. | 18Então observai como é a terra; como é o povo que a habita, forte ou fraco, escasso ou numeroso; | 18e vede a terra, que tal é; e o povo que nela habita, se é forte ou fraco, se pouco ou muito; | 18And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; |
| 19se a terra em que vive esse povo é boa ou ruim; se as cidades em que moram não são cercadas por muros ou fortificadas; | 19que tal é a terra em que habita, se boa ou má; que tais são as cidades em que habita, se arraiais ou fortalezas; | 19And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; |
| 20se o solo é fértil ou pobre; se existe ali floresta ou não. Sede corajosos. | 22Subiram do Neguebe e chegaram a Hebrom, onde viviam Aimã, Sesai e Talmai, todos descendentes de Enaque. Hebrom havia sido edificada sete anos antes de Zoã, no Egito. | 22E subindo para o Negebe, vieram até Hebrom, onde estavam Aimã, Sesai e Talmai, filhos de Anaque. (Ora, Hebrom foi edificada sete anos antes de Zoã no Egito. ) | 22And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) |
| 23Quando chegaram a um lugar conhecido como vale de Eshcol, cachos, cortaram um ramo do qual pendia um único cacho de uvas. Dois homens carregaram o cacho, pendurado numa vara. Colheram também romãs e figos. | 23Depois vieram até e vale de Escol, e dali cortaram um ramo de vide com um só cacho, o qual dois homens trouxeram sobre uma verga; trouxeram também romãs e figos. | 23And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. |
| 24Aquele lugar foi denominado vale de Eshcol, em alusão ao extraordinário cacho de uvas que os israelitas colheram ali. | 24Chamou-se aquele lugar o vale de Escol, por causa do cacho que dali cortaram os filhos de Israel. | 24The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence. |
| 25Ao cabo de quarenta dias, retornaram da exploração da terra. | 25Ao fim de quarenta dias voltaram de espiar a terra. | 25And they returned from searching of the land after forty days. |
| 26Vieram a Moisés, Arão e toda a comunidade de Israel em Cades, no deserto de Parã, onde prestaram relatório a eles e a toda a congregação ali reunida, e lhes apresentaram os frutos trazidos da terra. | 26E, chegando, apresentaram-se a Moisés e a Arão, e a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, no deserto de Parã, em Cades; e deram-lhes notícias, a eles e a toda a congregação, e mostraram-lhes o fruto da terra. | 26And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. |

| 29Os amalequitas vivem em Neguebe; os hititas, os jebuseus e os amorreus habitam a região montanhosa; os cananeus vivem perto do mar e junto ao Jordão!” | 29Os amalequitas habitam na terra do Negebe; os heteus, os jebuseus e os amorreus habitam nas montanhas; e os cananeus habitam junto do mar, e ao longo do rio Jordão. | 29The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. |
| 30Então Calebe fez calar o povo reunido diante de Moisés: “Subamos e herdemo-la!”, disse ele, “em verdade temos a capacidade de conquistar essa terra!” | 30Então Calebe, fazendo calar o povo perante Moisés, disse: Subamos animosamente, e apoderemo-nos dela; porque bem poderemos prevalecer contra ela. | 30And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. |
| 31Entretanto, os homens que o haviam acompanhado reagiram: “Não podemos marchar contra esse povo, visto que é mais forte que nós!” | 31Disseram, porém, os homens que subiram com ele: Não poderemos subir contra aquele povo, porque é mais forte do que nos. | 31But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. |
| 32E puseram-se a difamar diante dos filhos de Israel a terra que haviam observado: “A terra para a qual fomos em missão de reconhecimento é terra que devora seus habitantes. Todos aqueles que lá vimos são homens de grande estatura. | 32Assim, perante os filhos de Israel infamaram a terra que haviam espiado, dizendo: A terra, pela qual passamos para espiá-la, é terra que devora os seus habitantes; e todo o povo que vimos nela são homens de grande estatura. | 32And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. |
| 33Lá também vimos gigantes, os descendentes de Enaque, diante de quem parecíamos, a nós e a eles, gafanhotos!” | 33Também vimos ali os nefilins, isto é, os filhos de Anaque, que são descendentes dos nefilins; éramos aos nossos olhos como gafanhotos; e assim também éramos aos seus olhos. | 33And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. |
