| 9Por esse motivo, naquele mesmo dia, Moisés me jurou: ‘Certamente, a terra em que pisou o teu pé te pertencerá por herança a ti e aos teus descendentes para sempre, porque obedecestes perfeitamente a Yahwehmeu Deus!’ | 9Naquele dia Moisés jurou, dizendo: Certamente a terra em que pisou o teu pé te será por herança a ti e a teus filhos para sempre, porque perseveraste em seguir ao Senhor meu Deus. | 9And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God. |

Ouviste, naquele dia, que lá viviam os enaquins em suas grandes cidades fortificadas; porém se Yahwehestiver comigo, eu os expulsarei de lá, como disse o SENHOR!” | 12Agora, pois, dá-me este monte de que o Senhor falou naquele dia; porque tu ouviste, naquele dia, que estavam ali os anaquins, bem como cidades grandes e fortificadas. Porventura o Senhor será comigo para os expulsar, como ele disse. | 12Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. |
| 13Então Josué abençoou Calev ben Iefuné, Calebe filho de Jefoné, e lhe deu Hebrom por herança. | 13Então Josué abençoou a Calebe, filho de Jefoné, e lhe deu Hebrom em herança. | 13And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance. |
| 14Por isso, até nossos dias, Hebrom pertence aos descendentes de Calebe, filho do quenezeu Jefoné, pois ele foi obediente e perseverou em seguir o Eterno, o Deus de Israel. | 14Portanto Hebrom ficou sendo herança de Calebe, filho de Jefoné o quenezeu, até o dia de hoje, porquanto perseverara em seguir ao Senhor Deus de Israel. | 14Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel. |
| 15Antes disso, a cidade de Hebrom era chamada de Kiriat-Arbá, em homenagem a Arbá, o maior dos gigantes enaquins. | 15Ora, o nome de Hebrom era outrora Quiriate-Arba, porque Arba era o maior homem entre os anaquins. E a terra repousou da guerra. | 15And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war. |
