| 2“Ordena aos filhos de Israel que, da herança que possuem, entreguem aos levitas cidades, a fim de que possam morar, e pastagens ao redor destas cidades. Dareis tais cidades aos levitas para criarem os seus rebanhos. | 2Dá ordem aos filhos de Israel que da herança da sua possessão dêem aos levitas cidades em que habitem; também dareis aos levitas arrabaldes ao redor delas. | 2Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them. |
| 3As cidades serão sua habitação e as pastagens nos seus arredores serão para o seu gado, seus bens e todos os seus animais. | 3Terão eles estas cidades para habitarem; e os arrabaldes delas serão para os seus gados, e para a sua fazenda, e para todos os seus animais. | 3And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts. |
| 4As pastagens nos arredores das cidades que dareis aos levitas se estenderão, a partir da muralha da cidade, até quatrocentos e cinqüenta metros ao seu redor. | 4Os arrabaldes que dareis aos levitas se estenderão, do muro da cidade para fora, mil côvados em redor. | 4And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about. |
| 5Do lado de fora da cidade, medireis novecentos metros em direção ao lado leste, para o sul, para o oeste e para o lado norte, ficando a cidade no centro. Eles terão essa área para servir de pastagens aos rebanhos dessas cidades. | 5E fora da cidade medireis para o lado oriental dois mil côvados, para o lado meridional dois mil côvados, para o lado ocidental dois mil côvados, e para o lado setentrional dois mil côvados; e a cidade estará no meio. Isso terão por arrabaldes das cidades. | 5And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities. |
| 6As cidades que dareis aos levitas serão as seis cidades de refúgio, cedidas por vós para abrigar pessoas que acidentalmente matarem alguém; além dessas dareis mais quarenta e duas cidades. | 6Entre as cidades que dareis aos levitas haverá seis cidades de refúgio, as quais dareis para que nelas se acolha o homicida; e além destas lhes dareis quarenta e duas cidades. | 6And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities. |
| 7Ao todo, entregareis aos levitas quarenta e oito cidades, as cidades com seus espaços reservados às pastagens. | 7Todas as cidades que dareis aos levitas serão quarenta e oito, juntamente com os seus arrabaldes. | 7So all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: them shall ye give with their suburbs. |
| 8As cidades que dareis da possessão dos filho de Israel, vós as tomareis em maior número dos que têm muito e em pequeno número dos que têm pouco. Cada um dará das suas cidades aos levitas, em proporção com a herança que tiver recebido.” | 8Ora, no tocante às cidades que dareis da possessão dos filhos de Israel, da tribo que for grande tomareis muitas, e da que for pequena tomareis poucas; cada uma segundo a herança que receber dará as suas cidades aos levitas. | 8And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth. |

| 10“Fala assim aos israelitas: Quando tiverdes passado o Jordão para a terra de Canaã, | 10Fala aos filhos de Israel, e dize-lhes: Quando passardes o Jordão para a terra de Canaã, | 10Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan; |
| 11escolhereis cidades das quais fareis cidades de refúgio, onde possa refugiar-se o homicida que tenha morto alguém sem intenção ou inadvertidamente. | 11escolhereis para vós cidades que vos sirvam de cidades de refúgio, para que se refugie ali o homicida que tiver matado alguém involuntariamente. | 11Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares. |
| 12Essas cidades vos servirão de refúgio contra o vingador do sangue, e o homicida não deverá morrer antes de ter comparecido para o devido julgamento, diante da congregação israelita. | 12E estas cidades vos serão por refúgio do vingador, para que não morra o homicida antes de ser apresentado perante a congregação para julgamento. | 12And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment. |
| 13As cidades que dareis serão para vós seis cidades de refúgio: | 13Serão seis as cidades que haveis de dar por cidades de refúgio para vós. | 13And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge. |
| 14designareis três cidades deste lado do Jordão e três outras do lado de Canaã. | 14Dareis três cidades aquém do Jordão, e três na terra de Canaã; cidades de refúgio serão. | 14Ye shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge. |
| 15Tanto para os israelitas como para o estrangeiro e para aquele que mora no meio de vós, essas seis cidades servirão de refúgio, onde possa se refugiar aquele que matar alguém involuntariamente. | 15Estas seis cidades serão por refúgio aos filhos de Israel, ao estrangeiro, e ao peregrino no meio deles, para que se refugie ali todo aquele que tiver matado alguém involuntariamente. | 15These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither. |
| 16Entretanto, se feriu alguém com um objeto de ferro e disso resultou a morte desta pessoa, é um assassino. E, portanto, o homicida terá que ser executado. | 16Mas se alguém ferir a outrem com instrumento de ferro de modo que venha a morrer, homicida é; e o homicida será morto. | 16And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. |
| 17Se feriu com uma pedra apropriada para matar e a pessoa agredida morrer, igualmente é um homicida; e como assassino, deverá pagar com a própria vida. | 17Ou se o ferir com uma pedra na mão, que possa causar a morte, e ele morrer, homicida é; e o homicida será morto. | 17And if he smite him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. |
| 18Ou ainda, se feriu alguém com um instrumento de madeira, apropriado para matar, e a vítima morrer, igualmente é assassino. Será, portanto, morto tal homicida. | 18Ou se o ferir com instrumento de pau na mão, que possa causar a morte, e ele morrer, homicida é; será morto o homicida. | 18Or if he smite him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. |
| 19O vingador do sangue da vítima matará o assassino; assim que o encontrar o executará. | 19O vingador do sangue matará ao homicida; ao encontrá-lo, o matará. | 19The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him. |
| 20Se alguém, com ódio, empurrar uma pessoa com a intenção de matar, ou atirar algum objeto contra ela de modo que essa pessoa venha a morrer, | 20Ou se alguém empurrar a outrem por ódio ou de emboscada lançar contra ele alguma coisa de modo que venha a morrer, | 20But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die; |
| 21ou se com hostilidade desferir-lhe um soco provocando assim a sua morte, tal agressor deverá ser executado, pois é também homicida. O vingador da vítima matará o assassino quando o encontrar. | 21ou por inimizade o ferir com a mão de modo que venha a morrer, será morto aquele que o feriu; homicida é. O vingador do sangue, ao encontrá-lo, o matará. | 21Or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him. |
| 22Contudo, se empurrou a vítima fortuitamente, sem ódio e violência, ou atirou um objeto contra ela sem a intenção de matar; | 22Mas se o empurrar acidentalmente, sem inimizade, ou contra ele lançar algum instrumento, sem ser de emboscada, | 22But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait, |
| 23ou ainda, sem notar a presença da vítima, deixou cair sobre ela uma pedra que a pudesse matar, e, disto resultou a sua morte, embora não alimentasse contra ela nenhum rancor e não lhe planejasse mal algum, | 23ou sobre ele atirar alguma pedra, não o vendo, e o ferir de modo que venha a morrer, sem que fosse seu inimigo nem procurasse o seu mal, | 23Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his harm: |
| 24a comunidade julgará, segundo estas regras, entre o que feriu e o vingador do sangue da vítima, | 24então a congregação julgará entre aquele que feriu e o vingador do sangue, segundo estas leis, | 24Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments: |
| 25e salvará o homicida da mão do vingador da vítima e o enviará de volta à cidade de refúgio para onde tinha fugido. Ali permanecerá até a morte do sumo sacerdote, que foi ungido com óleo santo. | 25e a congregação livrará o homicida da mão do vingador do sangue, fazendo-o voltar à sua cidade de refúgio a que se acolhera; ali ficará ele morando até a morte do sumo sacerdote, que foi ungido com o óleo sagrado. | 25And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil. |
| 26Se, entretanto, o acusado vier a sair do território da cidade de refúgio onde se havia abrigado, | 26Mas, se de algum modo o homicida sair dos limites da sua cidade de refúgio, onde se acolhera, | 26But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, whither he was fled; |
| 27e o vingador do sangue da vítima o encontrar fora do território da sua cidade de refúgio, tal vingador terá o direito de matar o acusado sem medo de ser considerado homicida também. | 27e o vingador do sangue o achar fora dos limites da sua cidade de refúgio, e o matar, não será culpado de sangue; | 27And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood: |
| 28Portanto, o acusado deverá permanecer em sua cidade de refúgio até a morte do sumo sacerdote; somente depois da morte do sumo sacerdote poderá retornar à sua propriedade. | 28pois o homicida deverá ficar na sua cidade de refúgio até a morte do sumo sacerdote; mas depois da morte do sumo sacerdote o homicida voltará para a terra da sua possessão. | 28Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession. |
| 29Estas exigências jurídicas serão para vós e para todas as vossas gerações, em qualquer lugar onde habitardes. | 29Estas coisas vos serão por estatuto de direito pelas vossas gerações, em todos os lugares da vossa habitação. | 29So these things shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings. |
| 30Em todo caso de homicídio, o assassino será julgado e morto mediante o depoimento de testemunhas; mas uma única testemunha não levará alguém à pena de morte. | 30Todo aquele que matar alguém, será morto conforme o depoimento de testemunhas; mas uma só testemunha não deporá contra alguém, para condená-lo à morte. | 30Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die. |
| 31Não aceitareis resgate pela vida de um assassino condenado à morte, pois ele deverá pagar com a própria vida; | 31Não aceitareis resgate pela vida de um homicida que é réu de morte; porém ele certamente será morto. | 31Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death. |
| 32também não aceitareis resgate por alguém que, tendo-se refugiado na sua cidade de refúgio, quer voltar a habitar na sua propriedade antes da morte do sumo sacerdote. | 32Também não aceitareis resgate por aquele que se tiver acolhido à sua cidade de refúgio, a fim de que ele possa tornar a habitar na terra antes da morte do sumo sacerdote. | 32And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest. |
| 33Não profanareis a terra onde estais. O sangue profana a terra, e não há para a terra outra expiação do sangue derramado senão a do sangue daquele que o derramou. | 33Assim não profanareis a terra da vossa habitação, porque o sangue profana a terra; e nenhuma expiação se poderá fazer pela terra por causa do sangue que nela for derramado, senão com o sangue daquele que o derramou. | 33So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it. |
| 34Não tornarás impura a terra onde habitais e no meio da qual Eu habito. Porquanto Eu, Yahweh, o SENHOR, habito no meio dos filhos de Israel!” | 34Não contaminareis, pois, a terra em que haveis de habitar, no meio da qual eu também habitarei; pois eu, o Senhor, habito no meio dos filhos de Israel. | 34Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel. |
