I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. |

| 16Pois tudo o que há no mundo: as paixões da carne, a cobiça dos olhos e a ostentação dos bens não provém do Pai, mas do mundo. | 16Porque tudo o que há no mundo, a concupiscência da carne, a concupiscência dos olhos e a soberba da vida, não vem do Pai, mas sim do mundo. | 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. |
| 17Ora, o mundo passa, assim como sua volúpia; entretanto, aquele que faz a vontade de Deus permanece eternamente. Por isso, sabemos que esta é a última hora. | 18Filhinhos, esta é a última hora; e, conforme ouvistes que vem o anticristo, já muitos anticristos se têm levantado; por onde conhecemos que é a última hora. | 18Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. |

| 21Portanto, não vos escrevo porque vos falta o conhecimento da verdade, mas justamente porque a conheceis e, porquanto, nenhuma mentira tem origem na verdade. | 21Não vos escrevi porque não soubésseis a verdade, mas porque a sabeis, e porque nenhuma mentira vem da verdade. | 21I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. |
| 22Quem é o mentiroso, senão aquele que nega que Jesus é o Messias? Este é o Inimigo de Cristo: aquele que rejeita tanto o Pai quanto o Filho. | 22Quem é o mentiroso, senão aquele que nega que Jesus é o Cristo? Esse mesmo é o anticristo, esse que nega o Pai e o Filho. | 22Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. |

| 24Quanto a vós outros, zelai para que aquilo que ouvistes desde o princípio permaneça em vossos corações. Porquanto, se o que ouvistes permanecer em vós, de igual modo permanecereis no Filho e no Pai. | 24Portanto, o que desde o princípio ouvistes, permaneça em vós. Se em vós permanecer o que desde o princípio ouvistes, também vós permanecereis no Filho e no Pai. | 24Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. |

| 27Quanto a vós outros, a unção que dele recebestes permanece em vós, e não tendes necessidade de que alguém mais vos ensine sobre isso. No entanto, a unção que dele procede é verdadeira, não construída sobre a mentira, e vos ensina sobretudo o que precisais saber. Permanecei, pois, nele assim como Ele vos ensinou. Os verdadeiros filhos de Deus | 27E quanto a vós, a unção que dele recebestes fica em vós, e não tendes necessidade de que alguém vos ensine; mas, como a sua unção vos ensina a respeito de todas as coisas, e é verdadeira, e não é mentira, como vos ensinou ela, assim nele permanecei. | 27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. |
| 28Sim, queridos filhinhos, permanecei nele, para que tenhamos segurança quando Ele se manifestar e não sejamos envergonhados diante dele na sua vinda. | 28E agora, filhinhos, permanecei nele; para que, quando ele se manifestar, tenhamos confiança, e não fiquemos confundidos diante dele na sua vinda. | 28And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. |
| 29Se sabeis que Ele é justo, tomai conhecimento também que todo aquele que pratica a justiça é nascido dele! | 29Se sabeis que ele é justo, sabeis que todo aquele que pratica a justiça é nascido dele. | 29If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. |
