GILGAL, now Jiljulia, on the plain of Jordan, 15 ms. n.e. by e. from Jerusalem, 3 ms. w. of the Jordan. Another place of the same name is due n. of Jerusalem 17 ms., now Jiljilieh. The first is referred to in Josh. 4:19, 20, the second, in 2 Kings 2:1, 4:38. That of Josh. 12:23 is not known.
