Pelo que irou-se Caim fortemente, e descaiu-lhe o semblante. | 5But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. |

Entretanto, se assim não fizeres, sabe que o pecado espreita à tua porta e deseja destruir-te; cabe a ti vencê-lo!” | 7Porventura se procederes bem, não se há de levantar o teu semblante? e se não procederes bem, o pecado jaz à porta, e sobre ti será o seu desejo; mas sobre ele tu deves dominar. | 7If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. |
| 8Contudo, propôs Caim a seu irmão Abel: “Saiamos, vamos ao campo!” E, quando estavam no campo, aconteceu que Caim se levantou contra Abel, seu irmão, e o matou. | 8Falou Caim com o seu irmão Abel. E, estando eles no campo, Caim se levantou contra o seu irmão Abel, e o matou. | 8And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. |

Respondeu ele: Não sei; sou eu o guarda do meu irmão? | 9And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? |
| 10Exclamou o SENHOR: “Que fizeste? Ouve! Da terra, o sangue do teu irmão clama a mim. | 10E disse Deus: Que fizeste? A voz do sangue de teu irmão está clamando a mim desde a terra. | 10And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. |

| 12Quando cultivares o solo, este não te fornecerá mais da sua força; serás um fugitivo errante pelo mundo!” | 12Quando lavrares a terra, não te dará mais a sua força; fugitivo e vagabundo serás na terra. | 12When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. |
| 13Apelou Caim ao SENHOR: “Meu castigo é maior do que posso suportar. | 13Então disse Caim ao Senhor: É maior a minha punição do que a que eu possa suportar. | 13And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear. |
| 14Vê! Hoje tu me expulsas desta terra, e terei de me esconder da tua face; serei um fugitivo errante pelo mundo, e qualquer que me encontrar me matará!” | 14Eis que hoje me lanças da face da terra; também da tua presença ficarei escondido; serei fugitivo e vagabundo na terra; e qualquer que me encontrar matar-me-á. | 14Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. |
| 15Contudo, o SENHOR lhe asseverou: “Não acontecerá assim! Se alguém matar | 15O Senhor, porém, lhe disse: Portanto quem matar a Caim, sete vezes sobre ele cairá a vingança. E pôs o Senhor um sinal em Caim, para que não o ferisse quem quer que o encontrasse. | 15And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. |
| 16a Caim, sofrerá sete vezes a vingança.” E o SENHOR colocou em Caim um sinal, para que ninguém que viesse a encontrá-lo o matasse. | 16Então saiu Caim da presença do Senhor, e habitou na terra de Node, ao oriente do Éden. | 16And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. |
| 17Então Caim coabitou com sua mulher, ela engravidou e deu à luz Enoque. Depois Caim fundou uma cidade, à qual deu o nome do seu filho, Enoque. | 17Conheceu Caim a sua mulher, a qual concebeu, e deu à luz a Enoque. Caim edificou uma cidade, e lhe deu o nome do filho, Enoque. | 17And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. |

| 22Zilá também deu à luz um filho, chamado Tubalcaim, artífice de todo instrumento cortante, de bronze e de ferro; a irmã de Tubalcaim foi Naamá. | 22A Zila também nasceu um filho, Tubal-Caim, fabricante de todo instrumento cortante de cobre e de ferro; e a irmã de Tubal-Caim foi Naama. | 22And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah. |
| 23Então Lameque vangloriou-se diante de suas esposas: “Ada e Zilá, ouvi-me! Vós, mulheres de Lameque, escutai o que passo a declarar-vos: Matei um homem por causa de ferimentos que me causara; e uma criança porque me ofendeu. | 23Disse Lameque a suas mulheres: Ada e Zila, ouvi a minha voz; escutai, mulheres de Lameque, as minhas palavras; pois matei um homem por me ferir, e um mancebo por me pisar. | 23And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. |

| 26Sete foi pai e deu a seu filho o nome de Enos, que foi o primeiro a proclamar o Nome de Yahweh! | 26A Sete também nasceu um filho, a quem pôs o nome de Enos.
