| 21Então Isaque solicitou a Jacó: “Aproxima-te, pois, para que te apalpe, meu filho, assim saberei se és mesmo, ou não, o meu filho Esaú!” | 21Então disse Isaque a Jacó: Chega-te, pois, para que eu te apalpe e veja se és meu filho Esaú mesmo, ou não. | 21And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. |

| 28Que Deus te conceda, do céu, o orvalho, e, da terra, a riqueza, com muito cereal e muito vinho. | 28Que Deus te dê do orvalho do céu, e dos lugares férteis da terra, e abundância de trigo e de mosto; | 28Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: |
| 29Que as nações te sirvam e os povos se curvem diante de ti! Sê tu senhor dos teus irmãos; que se prostrem diante de ti os filhos de tua mãe! Maldito seja quem te amaldiçoar! | 33Então Isaque estremeceu com grande emoção e indagou: “Quem é, pois, aquele que preparou a caça e a trouxe para mim? Confiando, eu acabei de comê-la antes que tu viesses e impetrei-lhe minha bênção; e abençoado ele será!” | 33Então estremeceu Isaque de um estremecimento muito grande e disse: Quem, pois, é aquele que apanhou caça e ma trouxe? Eu comi de tudo, antes que tu viesses, e abençoei-o, e ele será bendito. | 33And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed. |
| 34Ao ouvir tais palavras de seu pai, Esaú gritou com muita força e grande amargura e suplicou a seu pai: “Abençoa-me de igual modo, meu pai!” | 34Esaú, ao ouvir as palavras de seu pai, bradou com grande e mui amargo brado, e disse a seu pai: Abençoa-me também a mim, meu pai! | 34And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father. |
| 35Mas este lhe respondeu: “Teu irmão veio com astúcia e tomou a tua bênção!” | 35Respondeu Isaque: Veio teu irmão e com sutileza tomou a tua bênção. | 35And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing. |
| 36Esaú acrescentou: “Com razão se chama Jacó: foi a segunda vez que me enganou. Ele tomou o meu direito de primogenitura e eis que agora tomou também minha bênção!” Então, inquiriu de seu pai: “Não reservaste nenhuma bênção para mim?” | 36Disse Esaú: Não se chama ele com razão Jacó, visto que já por duas vezes me enganou? tirou-me o direito de primogenitura, e eis que agora me tirou a bênção. E perguntou: Não reservaste uma bênção para mim? | 36And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me? |
| 37Ao que Isaque, tomando a palavra, informou a Esaú: “Eu o estabeleci teu senhor, dei-lhe todos os teus irmãos como servos e o provi de mantimento, de trigo e de vinho. Que poderia eu fazer por ti, meu filho?” | 37Respondeu Isaque a Esaú: Eis que o tenho posto por senhor sobre ti, e todos os seus irmãos lhe tenho dado por servos; e de trigo e de mosto o tenho fortalecido. Que, pois, poderei eu fazer por ti, meu filho? | 37And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son? |
| 38Esaú disse a seu pai: “É, pois, tua única bênção, meu pai? Abençoa-me também, meu pai!” Isaque ficou silencioso e Esaú se pôs a chorar. | 38Disse Esaú a seu pai: Porventura tens uma única bênção, meu pai? Abençoa-me também a mim, meu pai. | 39Então seu pai Isaque tomou a palavra e proferiu: “Longe das gorduras da terra será tua morada, longe do orvalho que cai do céu. | 39Respondeu-lhe Isaque, seu pai: Longe dos lugares férteis da terra será a tua habitação, longe do orvalho do alto céu; | 39And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; |
| 40Tu viverás de tua espada, servirás a teu irmão. Contudo, quando te libertares, sacudirás seu jugo de tua cerviz!” | 40pela tua espada viverás, e a teu irmão, serviras; mas quando te tornares impaciente, então sacudirás o seu jugo do teu pescoço. | 40And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck. |
| 41Depois disso passou Esaú a odiar a seu irmão Jacó, por causa da bênção que seu pai lhe determinara, e prometeu a si mesmo: “Estão próximos os dias de luto de meu pai. Então matarei meu irmão Jacó!” | 41Esaú, pois, odiava a Jacó por causa da bênção com que seu pai o tinha abençoado, e disse consigo: Vêm chegando os dias de luto por meu pai; então hei de matar Jacó, meu irmão. | 41And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob. |
| 42Quando foram relatadas a Rebeca as palavras de Esaú, seu filho mais velho, ela chamou Jacó, seu filho mais novo, e orientou-o: “Teu irmão Esaú quer vingar-se de ti, matando-te! | 42Ora, foram denunciadas a Rebeca estas palavras de Esaú, seu filho mais velho; pelo que ela mandou chamar Jacó, seu filho mais moço, e lhe disse: Eis que Esaú teu irmão se consola a teu respeito, propondo matar-te. | 42And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee. |

| 46Então Rebeca se queixou a Isaque: “Estou desgostosa da vida, por causa dessas mulheres hititas. Se Jacó escolher esposa entre as mulheres desta terra, entre as jovens hititas como essas, perderei completamente a razão de viver!” | 46E disse Rebeca a Isaque: Enfadada estou da minha vida, por causa das filhas de Hete; se Jacó tomar mulher dentre as filhas de Hete, tais como estas, dentre as filhas desta terra, para que viverei? | 46And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me? |
